When an EV driver experiences an issue at a charge point — such as a plug not releasing or a charging card not working — they typically contact the helpdesk.

In many cases, the helpdesk can resolve the issue immediately by remotely stopping the session, unlocking the connector, or providing guidance to the driver.

If the issue falls outside their scope, a detailed support ticket is created — including any error codes, system logs, or other diagnostic evidence — and forwarded to the CPO’s technical team for further investigation, such as checking for hardware issues or configuration errors.

If the CPO cannot resolve the issue either, the case is escalated to the Last Mile Solutions platform team. We then investigate potential root causes at the platform level, such as network communication failures, roaming mismatches, or back-end irregularities.

This structured escalation flow ensures every issue is addressed efficiently, with clear ownership and technical follow-through at every step.

No, the helpdesk is modular and optional, just like many platform features. As a CPO, you can choose to use our helpdesk service, provide support yourself, or outsource it to another provider.

If you decide not to use our helpdesk, your customers will see a different phone number or contact details for support — based on your preferred setup.

This flexibility allows you to tailor the support experience to best fit your organization and customer.

Yes, you can. If your charge point isn’t on our list of certified models, you can request certification by filling in this form. Once submitted, we’ll review and guide you through the integration and testing process to ensure smooth operation within our platform.

We decided that our first product, around smart charging, to bring to market is Edge. Edge Smart Charging combines the best of both worlds: local reliability with remote flexibility.

With Edge operating locally, charging stations remain fully functional and load balancing continues uninterrupted, even if the cloud connection is lost. Load decisions are made in real-time — every second, rather than a much longer time frame. This allows for much tighter control, better integration with solar and battery systems, and precise, prioritized charging based on user or vehicle needs.

In practice, the difference with cloud-only systems is minimal from a user perspective, but the benefits in resilience, responsiveness, and energy optimization are significant. Installing an Edge is also straightforward: once connected to the local network, charge points come online automatically, and from that moment, the system can be managed remotely from anywhere via Edge Manager. An Edge can support up to 200 charging stations. There’s no strict limit on the number of connectors — the Edge supports as many connectors as those 200 charge points include.

The system automatically reconfigures connected charge points to ensure optimal performance in dynamic load balancing. No manual reconfiguration is needed — the Edge handles it for you.

Yes. Our platform offers full remote access to your charge stations: you can monitor status in real time, retrieve diagnostics, and remotely perform actions such as restarting chargers, unblocking connectors, or starting and stopping sessions.

To support proactive maintenance and fast issue resolution, the platform includes an integrated ticketing system. Whenever a charge station triggers an alarm — for example, due to going offline or a connector fault — a maintenance ticket is automatically generated. Each ticket includes key details such as issue type, timestamp, and status. Maintenance actions can be logged, tracked, and integrated into your ERP or service management system via our extensive platform API — enabling efficient troubleshooting without the need for on-site intervention.

Yes, our platform allows you to manage both technical and commercial settings for your charge stations — either individually or in bulk using charge groups. You can configure technical aspects such as communication protocols, station names, and diagnostic access. At the same time, you can define commercial and administrative parameters like station ownership, cost centers, revenue beneficiaries, subscriptions, pricing, access rules, and roaming settings. This ensures consistent setup across your network, even at scale.

Roaming relies heavily on strong collaboration between partners. To ensure pricing transparency, we work closely with our CPO partners. They provide us with detailed pricing information through their offers, which we then accurately integrate into our backend systems. This cooperative approach ensures that end users receive clear and consistent pricing information for their roaming sessions.

No, that’s not necessary. Last Mile Solutions is connected to all major roaming hubs — including Hubject, Gireve, E-Clearing, eRound, and ENAPI — giving you broad network access through a single integration.
To further reduce costs and improve data quality, we also support direct peer-to-peer (P2P) connections once partners reach a certain scale. These connections improve session reliability and transparency, while helping to reduce high roaming fees that can impact profitability.

If the charge card is linked to one of our roaming partners, the session will be automatically authorized, recorded, and invoiced — with no effort required on your side. The way EV drivers pay for charging is changing fast. More and more drivers just want to tap and go — using a debit card, credit card, or digital wallet — without dealing with apps, RFID cards, or accounts.

This shift is being driven in part by new European legislation: the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR). Since April 2024, this regulation requires that all new public DC chargers with a capacity of 50 kW or more be equipped with a payment terminal. Existing chargers must comply by 2027. For many operators, the question is no longer if — but how fast.
